Refund Policy

SkillRide Driving Academy Pty Ltd (ABN 47 593 128 064) is committed to providing high-quality driving instruction. We understand that circumstances may arise where a refund is requested. This Refund Policy outlines the conditions under which refunds are available and the process for requesting one.
Refund Eligibility
Refunds may be issued in the following circumstances:
- You cancel a single lesson with at least 24 hours notice before the scheduled start time.
- You wish to cancel a prepaid lesson package and have remaining unused lessons.
- SkillRide Driving Academy cancels a lesson and is unable to reschedule at a time that is mutually convenient.
- A service was not delivered as described or agreed upon, and the issue cannot be resolved through rescheduling or an alternative arrangement.
Cancellation-Based Refunds
Our cancellation and refund terms for individual lessons are as follows:
- 24 Hours or More Notice: If you cancel a lesson at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time, you will receive a full refund or credit toward a future lesson.
- Less Than 24 Hours Notice: If you cancel with less than 24 hours notice, no refund will be issued. The full lesson fee will be charged to account for the instructor's reserved time and lost booking opportunity.
- No-Show: If you fail to attend a scheduled lesson without prior notice, no refund will be issued.
Package Refunds
If you have purchased a prepaid lesson package and wish to cancel the remaining unused lessons, the following applies:
- Refunds for packages are calculated on a pro-rata basis. The refund amount will be the value of the unused lessons minus a $50 administration fee.
- Completed lessons within the package will be charged at the standard single-lesson rate (not the discounted package rate) when calculating the refund.
- Packages that have been fully used are not eligible for any refund.
- Lesson packages must be used within 12 months of purchase. Unused lessons after this period are forfeited and are not eligible for a refund.
For example, if you purchased a 10-lesson package for $600 and have completed 4 lessons, the refund would be calculated as follows: 4 completed lessons charged at the standard single-lesson rate of $70 each ($280), subtracted from the package price ($600), minus the $50 administration fee, resulting in a refund of $270.
Non-Refundable Items
The following are not eligible for a refund under any circumstances:
- Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours notice or no-shows.
- Lessons that were attended and completed, regardless of the outcome or the student's satisfaction with their own driving performance.
- Driving test vehicle hire fees, once the test has been attended.
- Any fees paid directly to Transport for NSW, Service NSW, or other government agencies.
- Gift vouchers that have been redeemed or have expired.
- Promotional or discounted lessons that were explicitly marked as non-refundable at the time of purchase.
How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, please follow these steps:
- Send an email to [email protected] with the subject line "Refund Request".
- Include your full name, contact number, the date of the lesson or package purchase, and the reason for your refund request.
- If applicable, attach any supporting documentation such as a booking confirmation or payment receipt.
We will acknowledge your refund request within 2 business days and aim to resolve all requests promptly and fairly.
Processing Time
Once a refund has been approved, it will be processed within 5 to 10 business days. Refunds will be returned to the original payment method used at the time of purchase. Please note that your bank or financial institution may take additional time to reflect the refund in your account.
If you have not received your refund within 10 business days of approval, please check with your bank or payment provider first. If the issue persists, contact us at [email protected] and we will investigate.
Instructor-Initiated Cancellations
If SkillRide Driving Academy cancels a lesson due to instructor illness, vehicle breakdown, or other circumstances beyond our control, you will be offered a full reschedule at no additional cost. If a suitable reschedule cannot be arranged, a full refund will be issued for the affected lesson.
Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in this Refund Policy is intended to exclude, restrict, or modify any rights or remedies you may have under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010). If our services have a major failure, you are entitled to a refund. If the failure is minor, we may choose to provide a free replacement lesson or a refund at our discretion.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Any changes will be published on this page with a revised effective date. The updated policy will apply to all bookings and purchases made after the date of the change.
